Is there a forum for.....

Curious how you all got into this profession; BTW, what profession ARE you in? TV? Wedding Videographers? Hollywood?

I backed into video editing using Studio 8 to make photo montage movies for weddings, anniversaries, etc. Now, I love doing it so much, I'm trying to figure out how to actually make money at it.

Am I the only one who uses inexpensive Sony Handycam(s) (can't afford 'adult' cameras) to shoot video, use my TRV-460 as a digitizer/input to computer (instead of MovieBoxPro and other things you discuss) then edit in LE to make DVD movies? Is there a better forum for me to talk with other amateurs?

I've used S8 to produce and sell maybe 50-100 photo montage movies on DVD, and copied lots of folks home video and 8 mm film to DVD with addition of cool title screens, music, etc. Then a couple months ago, I bought LE, and WOW-- I feel like I'm in the BIG TIME now with all of the LE capabilities I'm now discovering and using. 2-hour DVD's used to be a problem with my S8/computer- now there's nothing to it! And the creative possibilities!!

But in this forum, so much of talk is technical (almost sounds like-- a JOB!!--), interesting and sometimes valuable to me, but not much talk of creativity in the actual video products. Is there a "creativity in video production" forum?

Don't get me wrong- you guys are great, and the discussions are great, but I don't understand a lot of the issues. How do I get from being the productive rank amatuer that I am to a professional independent film/video one-man production company?

Got lots of project ideas besides the weddings I am video producing, such as a full length (1-hr plus) documentary on a local tourist town, and a military ceremony remembering lost submarines (I'm a retired Navy submariner). Is there a forum that I can discuss and share ideas on the one-man video company with?

Sorry about the rambling.... Happy video editing!

If you're looking for creativity and then you'll probably want the demo reel forum or something of that nature. This forum is specific to Liquid Edition which, as you know, is a video cutter.

try this:

good luck...
