Blackmagic Output - frame rate issue

I've been having an issue with output from Final Cut Pro via a Blackmagic card. My system is a Mac Pro with FCP 6.0.4. I have the Blackmagic PCIe card.
I have several projects which combine SD and HD footage - the SD footage is 29.97 and the HD Varicam footage is 59.94. I haven't been able to find any Blackmagic output setting that can handle multiple frame rates. I can combine footage in a sequence and have the output setting match the sequence setting, but that doesn't help with playing clips that aren't in a sequence.
Does anyone know any workarounds or solutions to help with this issue? Do I need a different Blackmagic card? Thanks.

Depends a bit on your scan patterns - varicam basically works at 59.94 (or 60) P, but depend show it was shot. The varicam works by recording UP TO 60 fps, so 24fps recording would still give 60fps tapes with 36 spare/junk frames to extract. Otherwise stariaght 59.94 (all active frames) can be played back at 29.97 and will effectively output every other frame from the deck with the effect of a 29.97 recording. If you want slo-mo from the 59.94 then you need to time stretch it (effectively one second shot will last for 2 seconds at playback). Not a complete answer but shows options
