Intensity Pro: live capture from computer monitor
by David Bovill on Jun 20, 2008 at 12:12:30 am

I want to capture high quality video direct from the computer screen - a hardware video screen capture. I have a software solution for OSX - but for various reasons need a hardware solution.

I have a Mac Pro with nvidia geforce 8800 graphics card - and I was hoping to get the dvi output from the card and plug that into an input for the Intensity Pro card and to that end i bought a DVI-HDMI adaptor. However I cannot get an input signal on the intensity Pro card. I guess I can get a DVI-svideo adapter - but want the best possible resolution. I am thinking that I can get the DVI-HDMI solution to work if I know what resolution and frequency to set the computer monitor to - so that conversion to an HDMI signal works.

There may also be an issue with having to have a recognised monitor for the HDMI signal attached?

Any ideas?
