multibridge/decklink pro compatibility with xdcam ex1 on AVID and FCP
by chandra krishna on May 17, 2008 at 10:38:30 am

Hi all, Am planning to upgrade my production unit to HD and getting the Sony XDCAM PMW-EX1 as main camcorder.
The post-production will be on Mac pro and like to have
XDCAM EX1(SxS(mpeg2/mp4)/SDI)> multibridge/decklink pro > Mac pro(FCP/AVID)work flow.

Does the multibridge/deck link pro support this?

Thanks.
Cheers,
Chandra.

Well, if I could help you answer this question I would, but I am a Premiere Pro PC guy. But anyway, I have posted zillions of questions in this forum and have never gotten any decent answers. Either not many people own Decklink products, or I am on Creative Cow's black list. I would be very suprised if you got a decent answer to this question. Good luck.

Chandra,

95% of every I produce is in the XDCAM format. I good portion of my stuff is delivered on HDCAM tape.

I use the Multibridge to "Edit to Tape" out of final cut, and I have yet to have any severe issue with this. I actually use the DVI out to run my 3rd monitor which when not sending video acts as additional desktop real estate.

Hope that helped.
