HD + SD Output on Multibridge Eclipse
by Oli Trenouth (Moonbee) on Mar 12, 2008 at 3:55:42 pm

Hi everyone,

This might be stupid question, but should the MB Eclipse be able to output HD (eg. via HDMI), and downconvert to SD (for all other outputs) *at the same time*?

I've got the box to downconvert HD->SD with good results, but it also downconverts the HDMI output. This makes checking graphics and font-sizes in both HD and SD a pain.

Should this be possible, or am I asking too much of the Eclipse?

Regards,

Oli.

Hi Oli,

The Multibridge Eclipse does not output HD and SD simultaneously.

The multibridge Extreme does do this but only in hardware and only for 1080i. I still can't get an explanation why or when it will work for 720P.
Kristian could you please explain this?

The multibridge pro is the same, just as hdmi
instead of DVI is my understanding.

component output and dvi-d = HD

SDI Channel B output = SD

I use it whenever I work on HD material with client supervision.

They really like seeing both at the same time.
