driver update-no more previews

I had previously been using my Decklink HD Pro card with the 4.8 driver on a mac with OSX 3.2.8.
I was able to set up my After Effects 6.5 video preview preferences to play to a separate CRT broadcast monitor, either in SD compositions or downconverting from HD compositions. It also worked for viewing from my FCP4.
When I upgraded to After Effects 7.0, I was no longer able to get a video preview to this monitor no matter what Blackmagic settings I tried in after effects. I WAS able to still get a preview out of FCP though.
I figured I just needed to upgrade my blackmagic codec. Since updating to the 5.7.1 blackmagic driver, I am no longer able to get ANY blackmagic options whatsoever in my AE video preview dialogue box.
It now only lists "Computor Monitor Only, " "DVCProHD (which has no output module)" or "Digital Cinema Desktop."
None of those options give me a preview in my monitor.
And my Final Cut Pro HAD been outputting to this monitor but since adding the 5.7.1 codec, it no longer does. None of the settings have been changed.
what changed? What went wrong? where did it go?
Please help!

Similiar problem can be caused by wrong settings in Upconvert/Downconvert settings in the BM setup. If theese setings are not required for the current project you are working on make sure you turn them off for both input and output.

I presently am working in HD, so I have the output downconvert turned on.
I have no signal going in though, so I have the input downconvert off.
Blackmagic support had me uninstall and start over. No good.
I am now back to where I was...using the older blackmagic codec....my FCP viewing on hte monitor works, I can SEE the blackmagic video preview options in After Effects again but can't get a preview, and my Quicktime also no longer previews on the monitor.
