When framelink makes a dpx seq, it calls files 'Frame 1.dpx', 'Frame 2.dpx' .... 'Frame 9.dpx', 'Frame 10.dpx' .... 'Frame 100.dpx', .... 'Frame 1000.dpx'.

So when imported into another system, one gets multiple ranges like 1-9, 10-99, 100-999, 1000-9999 etc.
Why cannot there be some way to pad zeros so we have 00001-10000 which most other software will see as one range?

Also can the dpx files have the timecode of the original QT?

Neil

Hi Neil,

We have done exactly that on the PC version of FrameLink. We just haven't rolled it into a MAC release as yet.

Cheers,

Any chance FrameLink will be sold as an separate product that can be used without a DeckLink card. Also, it would be nice to have other options beside dpx, Commotion and Photoshop cannot open dpx, this is where we do a lot or roto and dust busting work. Adding Tiff as an option would solve this.

Thanks

Hi John,

There are many option we want to get into FrameLink, TIFF is one of them. As Kaspar said, CS 1 & 2 open DPX.

We currently dont have any plans to sell FrameLink as a seperate app.

Cheers,

Regards,

Matt
