There have been a few issues posted on this forum and on the AE forum that relate to BMD on the Mac, and I'm just wondering what progress is being made.

I have problem with this issue.
I use FCP5, Decklink Pro & Extreme (Mac 1 & Mac 2), OS 10.4.2, Driver Decklink V5.0, FCP Update to 5.0.2
But i have no video out on sdi output.
when doing the capturing, the sdi output can display images.
but when i want to do the print to tape, can't work it out.
heard from Kristian Lam that my PowerMac wasn't supported by Decklink, since i has only PCI slot not PCI-X.
Is there anyway that i can have the sdi output, besides changing my PowerMac Dual 2.0GHz??
I also sent this same info to Kristian Lam, who reproduced the problem on July 18th and forwarded it your engineers. Now, I know that it has only been about ten days, but you guys have spoiled me in the past with your incredibly fast response to issues! So, it would be great if you could check in to this.
I would be happy to talk with you or any of your engineers, as I have done quite a bit of troubleshooting and may be able to save you some time. I do know that there seem to be no satisfactory work arounds for either of these issues, and that action is needed by BMD and or Apple to correct these issues.

Hi Chris
I wonder if you have this problem too. I am using PAL 10 bit Uncompressed 16:9 settings. I have made an easy setup by duplicating the 4:3 ratio Blackmagic 10 bit uncompressed set up, and adjusting the aspect ratio setting.
Place a 10 bit uncompressed clip into After Effects. Toggle 16 bit on and I see horrible digital artefacts hard to explain so here's a picture I grabbed:
I have tried exactly the same clip on my old setup ( Panther 10.3.9, AE 6.5, FCP 4, and BM 4.8 ) and it shows no difference with none of these artefacts. I know my Panther set up is not a supported system set up but it works the way it should.
There is definitely a problem with the 10-bit codec in Tiger. I'm pretty sure that Apple added this new "feature" with the newest unompressed 10-bit codec that comes with Quicktime 7 and Tiger.
I sure hope somebody is working on all this. It's not very satisfying when all the stuff that is supposed to be new and better really just breaks everything.
I don't think this has been answered satisfactorily. If it has, please let me have the link.
And, why does the ext video output vanish in Tiger 10.4.2, BMD 5.0 and QT 7.0.1 and reappear when the same system is booted under Panther 10.3.9, BMD 4.8.1 and QT 6.5.2.
