Digitsing direct from the HD-SDI of a Varicam AJ-HDC27F - 1080 or 720?

Just weighing up the option of a low-cost HD solution. If I connect a Convergent Design Nanoflash or AJA/Decklink card to the HD-SDI output of a tape Varicam...is the output from the camera 10-bit 1080i or 720 progressive as a live feed?

The AJ-HDC27F Varicam only outputs 720p. The HDX900 does both formats.
