HD1200 Deck Question
by Jon Springer on Mar 31, 2008 at 4:44:07 am

I'm getting a E-02 error message on the deck when I try to record 720p60 footage that has a B/W desaturation effect on it. The source system is an Avid Liquid Chrome Xe. The color footage records fine, but as soon as the desaturated clips go through, the tape signal breaks up and the E-02 message pops up.

Does this have anything to do with (the lack of) colorburst in the signal? How does a person record B/W footage on this deck? I'm going HD-SDI out of the Liquid, and I've tried YUV, RGB and VGA output with same results.

Is there a menu option on the deck that could remedy this?

Thanks.

I believe that even B&W footage needs to have color burst on it.
Perhaps the Error message comes from the machine seeing burst and then losing it. I'm not an engineer but it's something I'd check on.
