Varicam FCP settings
by J Ocho on Oct 19, 2007 at 4:54:41 am

I shot some video with the Varicam at 24fps. I am capturing for the first time to FCP. Should my sequence setting be as follows:

FRAME SIZE: HD 960X720
PIXEL ASPECT RATIO: HD (960x720)
Lower fields
COMPRESSOR: DVCPRO720p60

Please let me know ASAP if this is correct...

Thanks,

Joe

You could digitize it two ways:

- 60fps (24P with a 60P 2:3 pulldown) This is the exact info on the tape.
- 24fps (removing the 2:3 pulldown so you end up with a native 23.98 file)

Easiest thing to do is select Easy Setup - DVCPROHD 720P24 for 23.98 or DVCPROHD 720P60 if you want to keep all 60 frames. These will have all of the right settings.
