I know there is A LOT to this, but I hope that this post starts a discussion to help me along my path. I was the road manager for a band called The Recipe before I moved to Michigan. The band is from my home state of West Virginia. They have 6 members that dwell in a total of 4 locations. There are very good bandwidth streams available at all of the locations which are a couple hundred miles from each other. Gas prices are outrageous. People leaving the house is at an all time low. The time for live shows via the web is here. I am hoping to iron out a way to video conference the band members together in a latency free environment to play a live show that can be captured and sent outside of the network to be rebroadcast to however many thousands of fans that your server can handle. What are the applications that I should be checking out? Has anyone accomplished this before? Is someone currently doing it? Any guidance you may have would be greatly appreciated.

One Love. Get by with a little help from your friends. Excuse me while I kiss the sky.

I haven't done this with music but I've done virtual Panel Discussions with Skype Group Video and Telestream Wirecast bringing the call in for live streaming.

Here's my Wirecast with Skype tutorial. With Skype Group Video you'd crop each musician for solo if you'd like and could either use Skype's screen for the group or crop and place each over a group background of your own making.

How to use Skype Video in Wirecast
