Whats the most used format for streaming on a website?
by John Frank on Jul 9, 2009 at 3:58:14 pm

So I want to get most people who check my website to be able to view my Reel and Videos, I'm wondering what's the best format to use for streaming.

I generally prefer h264.mp4 but I'm not sure how many people can support that, would a .mov be better or .flv?

Oh I just noticed, this forum is for live streaming? Sorry I meant just for them to play it back on my web page.

Flash is the most common web delivery format out there. H.264 flash would give you the best quality.

Either mp4 H.264 and flv is ok, for they both are supported by Adobe Flash Player.
To broadcast your video online more widely, you can use Flash, or rather. And a web-based Flash video player to play the flv files.
You can use Moyea Web Player (http://www.playerdiy.com/), with which you can make a customized flv player in minutes.
You can try it.
