High Quality online video

I manage a web site for a band and I would like to host some high quality video of live performances and/or clips of DVD's. I also want to stream audio dialogue from Radio interviews and similar. Rather then hosting the audio/video where the site is hosted, I would like to host them at a location designed for this use and embed the clip in my website.
I was going to use You Tube, but someone told me about VIMEO Plus. I have tried the Vimeo basic and wasn't that impressed (uploaded the video and it now says "temporarily unavailable"), however the blurb that they put up alongside the Vimeo Plus option looks good. They claim that I can make the video only available through my site and not via the Vimeo site, so I can control who can and cannot see the footage.
Has anyone got any tips or help in where I should host the video/audio?
What are your thoughts on Vimeo and/or You Tube for this use?

How do you host and deliver 100's of HD videos a week with only 5GB of storage and 20GB(? is this bytes or bits?) of bandwidth unless your videos are a few seconds long and only watched by very few people.
