Video Hosting: recommendations?

Hi all -
I'm looking to find a video hosting service where I can store my video files and embed them into my personal site. YouTube quality and filesize limits are not acceptable. I already have a hosting service that I'm happy with for my website/domain: I'm just looking for a service like www.webvideozone.com or www.flvhosting.com where I can upload, encode, and embed video files into my existing web page.
Does anyone have any experience with any of these pay services? I'd like to know that I can trust these folks before I start sending them money. Their rates seem to ride right around $50 a month for the type of service I'm looking for. That's a little steep for me right now. Any tips?

You may not need a streaming video host, your current host may work fine for "progressive download" video in your web pages.
Can you encode your video? With what? How long is your movie (s)?

Oh yeah, that's not a problem at all - Flash video encoder, or Riva, whatever. I'm just too busy (perhaps "lazy"?) to do the extra work of waiting for the encoding, creating the embed tags, making a player .swf, all that... I'm looking for quick and easy but higher quality than YouTube. Videos are anywhere from 30 second spots to 20 minute infomercials and educational peices. I like the convenience of uploading a file, having it encode on someone else's equipment, and then simply cutting and pasting an embed tag into my HTML when it's ready. But your suggestion is probably best for my wallet!

Another caveat is the upload event. To get decent quality end product you would need to upload at least DV at 178 MB per minute. Upload speeds for cable and DSL are about 8 times longer than download speeds unless you have a T1 line.
