looking for hosting for 24-7 Live streaming
by Paul Corey on Dec 29, 2006 at 5:53:50 pm

Hi,
I would like to do what Tom Green is doing on his web site www.tomgreen.com
Live 24-7. Sometimes he has color bars but he is streaming something live or taped shows all the time.
I have a switcher and to cameras that will go in to my Canopus ADVC-100 box.
Then into my PC with the fire wire and I have Windows Media Encoder 9.
So I am looking for a hosting company that have Live streaming 24-7 for my Live streaming TV Channel.

Paul

I recently went through the vendor selection process for a streaming vendor (I work for a PBS station in Chicago). Finally decided on Limelight Networks based on what they could provide and the price they gave us.

Others to maybe check out are MirrorImage and VitalStream. There's also a company called StreamLogics that resells Akamai and VitalStream based on the customers need.

PBS national uses MirrorImage, but most of the major networks use either Akamai, Limelight, or VitalStream.

Adam
