Cheap easy way to do live video streaming within local network.
by Tony4x4 on Dec 7, 2005 at 9:25:04 pm

Hi,

I am using VT4 to produce and record live video. We are currently broadcasting the video via coax cable to 3 tvs on the campus. VT4 has the ability to output to a streaming server.

Without incurring too much cost is there a way that people on out network can monitor the LIVE video using the capabilites of VT4?

Thanks

Tony

OK, I'm not that much of a server guy, I usually pay someone else to make it "easy." Not too sure that you get both cheap and easy, but maybe you will.

Check out the helix server at helixcommunity.org. Helix is the current version of what used to be the realmedia server, now an open-source project.
