Importing Avid sequence into FCP and recapturing

If I use Automatic Duck to transfer my Avid Media Composer sequence into FCP (with linked rather than embedded media), if I understand correctly there will be a FCP batch list of offline clips to recapture.
My question is, are those clips just the shots that are in the sequence (i.e. basically just onlining the sequence itself) or the original (much longer) Avid master clips that the sequence was cut from?
I am only midway through the cut and would need to have the original master clips available in FCP to continue editing. If I export the Avid bin (with all the master clips) as an ALE and convert it to a FCP bin, and then recapture those master clips in FCP, and then convert the sequence using AD, will the shots in the sequence relink to the already-captured master clips?

a) The master clips in FCP have the same durations as the clips in the Avid. If you wish to capture only what is required for the sequence I suggest you decompose the sequence before you export from the Avid.
b) FCP links based on file names, not tape and timecode, so relinking will only work if you capture to the exact file names that are the exact same durations as the clips in the sequence. I wouldn't recommend doing it, it seems too likely to fail.

Okay, just to clarify:
"a) The master clips in FCP have the same durations as the clips in the Avid. If you wish to capture only what is required for the sequence I suggest you decompose the sequence before you export from the Avid."
So in my new FCP sequence I would be able to match back to (or trim with) the entire master clip that each shot was taken from, right?
