Rates and charging clients
by Nicholas Johnson (MonkeyBoy) on May 19, 2008 at 7:21:51 pm

Hi guys,

I've mostly just used my GL2 for helping friends out with videos but have had a few people inquire about costs for my services - what are some basic ranges of rates for shooter, camera, editing and editor services I can quote them?

thanks!

Depends on your experience, equipment and the quality of your work. Someone like me, with over twenty years of broadcast shooting and editing experience, HPX-500 (P2 HD camera) and high end edit system, I can charge well over $1000 a day.

Based on your description, consumer camcorder and just starting out $10-$15 an hour.
