If you can export an edl generally someone working in a dedicated grading app (like resolve, baselight, or scratch... Even speed grade) can reconstitute the edit using an edl and the original r3d files. That would be best for quality and latitude.

Thanks for the advise. Here's what I came up with in the mean time: if I just rerender the video to WMV, even from a choppy first rendering to AVCHD, the problem is ...gone... I agree that this must be codec issue.

The issue is particularly not with most of the video cards, its the Vegas GPU architecture etc.... But yes, most users get better results using nvidia cards.

Glad to hear that. I am running a AMD Radeon 6750. Latest driver updates. i7 with 16gb ram. This is supposed to be a vegas compliant video card but I think people have more stability with nvidia cards, is that so?
