While capturing some SD footage, which is being unconverted via Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D...I see that the waveform and vectorscope within the capture window are showing a tiny "PAL" in each corner.

It seems like the Ultrastudio 3D supports 2048x1556 at 23.98. 24, and 25, but does not support 2048x1080 at all. Am I missing something? Seems backward.

Just to make sure, the Ultrastudio is not transcoding but capturing a live feed from the HD-SDI.
You can playback pre-recorded footage from the camera and capture the output but the debayer is not very good in playback mode and exhibits aliasing. | | | | |
