GREAT NEWS FOR ANYONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME! To tackle the problem of choppy output: 1)I imported the M2TS file into Sony Vegas. 2) Cropped it and rendered as WMV V11 with a 5Mbps HD 720-25p template (my hard drive is not up to 1080!)

It's a scaled down product for newbs. Personally, I use and think Platinum Pro Pack is the best bang for the buck. It has most all the capabilities of Vegas Pro. If you are interested in video, and want to have more flexibility later go for PPP.

Create a selection mask, then keyframe animate it. You'l have to adjust the mask practically every 2-3 frames.
