I'm a little late to the thread, but I think the key phrase here is "clone"...you cannot make a D5 clone of HDcamSR footage...it will be a decode to (and I think this term is perhaps a bit stretched from analog times...) 'baseband' and re-compress...

Every broadcaster has different delivery specs. Some require Betacam (but I shot my show in HD, how can I deliver a beta tape? ), some require DVCPro. Some require Digi Beta, some require HDCam, some require Panasonic DVCProHD, some require Sony HD
