R680 isn't generally associated with archive storage; but I wouldn't stop you if you'd want to go that route: it's great that it can serve both as archive class (fail-safe but not necessarily fast) - and performance (fast but not necesarily fail-safe

I was in touch with ATTO last night and they don't recommend or support SAS to eSATA The reason is that this work-flow is bound to be problematic, because there are too many conversions involved with the cabling, specifically lost packets of data.

James, The SR5, which is a STARDOM product is not yet shipping, at least not in the US. You'll get better throughput than FW 800 using an ExpressCard 34mm to eSATA with an SR4 with the eSATA I/O. Anything else, please do feel free to drop us
