Emily - It might be possible to achieve this using Element 3D - it depends upon a few things - One - how accurate do the colors have to stay to the still? If they have to be identical, you will be far better off doing this in the 2D/3D

huh.. good question! If I'm not completely mistaken, the effect "set channels" could work for you. Well... I guess it's more of a work around if you turn the channel into a B&W layer in Photoshop and then use that in after effects..
