Basically, I have an image which says "ON FIRE", and I want to create a particle that emits from the edges of the text making it look the text is on fire.
Anyone know how I can do this?

You are using an old version of particleIllusion (3.0.4 is the latest on Windows) so that may fix the problem. It's a bug in pIllusionRender... I can't remember if that's been fixed yet or if it's still on the list. | | | | |

No idea. Why would you even need to show them any documentation from GenArts? I suspect there is some other reason they've denied your request, and that it has nothing to do with the use of particleIllusion. You should get more details from them. | | | | |

Yes and no. It's weird that you're having the trouble with the keyboard, but it may be that the only solution at this time is to:

Okay, so pI3 can read your footage, but pIRender can't it seems. Sounds like a bug in pIRender, but can't be sure.
The 4:3 issue is probably because the footage uses non-square pixels, and particleIllusion only uses square pixels at this time.

Does particleIllusion (not pIRender) load your original footage correctly and play it? Try zooming out the stage to 50% or 25% or whatever you need, then render in pI3. When it asks you if you want to set the zoom level to 100%, click "no". The idea | | | | |

Tom has apparently been inspired by the recent info about the LHC and the Higgs, and has produced a library with some pretty amazing emitters. It's 100% super emitters, so no library for particleIllusion SE this month -- sorry!

Try the "run with software rendering option" in the Start menu particleIllusion menu. If that fixes it, you need to update your video drivers.

I'm not sure how I'll use these plant-themed emitters due to my particular more "ethereal" visual style, but I'll come up with something to tweak and weave them in for they are... great: graceful, elegant, cool - IMO.

Have you tried viewing the sequence in another application? That will tell us if the problem is with the output file itself, or with a Vegas setting or something else.

What format are you saving in? Have you tried different formats (like JPG output)? If you do JPG output I suggest creating a folder -- don't save it to your desktop or you'll have too many files there.
