Apple rep doesn't know what he is taking about! the problem is not with the Kona, but with your graphic card (7300) which is not supported by color. I run different kona card and different Mac pro. ATI cards are fully supported with Apple FCP & Co

I think color is not so friendly with nvidia, so any ATI card will work just fine...also with color if your using a nvidia card, your limited to working with either 8 or floating point internal pixel format. 12 and 16 are always greyed out. Hey Ra

It might just be my theory but I don't think until Final Cut Pro is brought over to Cocoa (i.e. more or less a re-write of the app) will it see the full benefits of Snow Leopard (or OSX for that matter). This is a huge process on larger applications

ATI makes Color run much much faster. Right now the GPU has not much of anything to do with FCP that I'm aware of. It's all Color and Motion right now, though the Snow Leopard ads keep pointing to the GPUs handing more of the load from the proc

I guess this is the one argument in favor of using an NVIDIA card for use with Color...if you want to use a macbook pro and mac pro on the same project...as I know that generally the ATI card is recommended for best performance....

I used the CD that came with the 4650. I want to stress that I was told by Blackmagic that only the 4670 and better would work, but my client went to Compu USA, and bought what they had in stock - a 4650, so I figured "what the heck". And it worked

Thanks Tracy , I think it is possible, I will try to replace the unit I have with a new one. I will update if there is a change. About the nVidia compatibility issue, I doubt that it's the reason, considering Apple's tech specs includes the nVidia
