Took a bunch of .MTS bundles from a fs100 and ran them through clipwrap to rewrap them into .mov. When I import then into premiere, they have glitchy playback, video freezing, etc. Importing the raw .MTS files into premiere plays just fine. Any ideas

You shouldn't be having problems with 720p on that machine, I know because I use the same one and have no issues. Mavericks is the cause of many problems with older software, even new stuff. Like I said before, I suggest you run FCP7 under 10.6.8 a

FCP 7 works on Mavericks in most cases just fine. But if you use lots of plugins or 3rd party stuff, then there have been plenty of reports of bugs, strange behavior, or even just not working. You'll need to read up on how to have 7 and X install

So I went nuts and reinstalled everything, disabled plugins etc. The issue is with the way that the OSX is dealing with the "file cache". Apparently mavericks got really aggressive when it comes to file cache and only releases it when it is needed.
