How does FCPX store pictures imported from aperture?

Ok, I imported pictures to aperture, and I saved them on an external drive. What I don`t understand is that I can drag these pictures to FCPX without connecting my drive. How is this possible? When do FCPX requires connection withe "the real media"?

I would recommend holding off upgrading until there is time for all the bugs to be worked out. Even when they say it is compatible, unforeseen issues always pop up. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I haven't even upgraded to Mavericks yet...

Took a bunch of .MTS bundles from a fs100 and ran them through clipwrap to rewrap them into .mov. When I import then into premiere, they have glitchy playback, video freezing, etc. Importing the raw .MTS files into premiere plays just fine. Any ideas

FCP 7 works on Mavericks in most cases just fine. But if you use lots of plugins or 3rd party stuff, then there have been plenty of reports of bugs, strange behavior, or even just not working. You'll need to read up on how to have 7 and X install
