It sounds like a mismatch in settings, but the FCP Output preferences have to also match the sequence. There are some codecs that will not play out over SDI no matter what, like Animation. jPo

I'll just throw in the obvious one for measure: in the View menu, is External Video set to All Frames? Cmd-F12 toggles it off so you might have done that by accident in some finger-stretching exercices...

Did you upgrade AJA drivers recently? The latest drivers are designed for FCPX and are beta. Make sure your drivers are the latest non FCPX versions. It is fairly well documented on the AJA site

Call AJA... But also try toggling on and off "mirroring on the desktop". It's in the Audio/Video settings in the AV Devices tab. Turn it off to see if it streams OK, then turn it back on... Jerry

I'm not on AJA, I'm using Blackmagic, but I get that problem sometimes too. Sometimes it just takes a Refresh A/V, turning each on and off, restarting FCP, restarting the system, closing and reopening the canvas window, even turning the monitor on a

You also over-estimate the quality that you get from the FCP Canvas and Viewer. They aren't designed to show full quality. Only an IO device going to an HDTV will show you what it really looks like.

That is interlacing. You shot 50i..."i" means interlaced, and that is what you have. Your computer display doesn't show interlacing well...and often the Canvas and Viewer don't either. The only way to see this without the interlacing is to view it
