Heidy Let me suggest ShotPut Pro from Imagine Products to offload (BACKUP) your P2 cards. After shooting with P2 cards, these backups will become your Tape Masters.

Instead of copying directly to the hard drive, if at all possible, connect your drive and Camera to a computer. Check ShotPut Pro from Imagine Products. This will offload P2 cards in a safe and efficient manner.

Thanks again for the good info and the tips. This gives me something to think about, I'll probably stick with compressor for proxy files for now. hopefully Imagine products (makers of proxy mill) will be able to work out the bugs and maybe Panasonic

They do not create proxy files. Check out ProxyMill from Imagine Products. It's a much less expensive alternative to the P2 Proxy Encoder Card.
