Peter, neither Ikan nor Wooden Camera make any matteboxes. Both of those cameras make support gear and rigs but no mattebox. Look instead at Genus as a more budget friendly alternative to Chrosziel and Arri. The Redrock Micro has treated me well

Yeah, there's no question those four screws should have been flanged just a hair deeper and those gashes wouldn't be gnarled into the camera body like that. Would only need 1 or 2mm worth. That's a shame... totally avoidable at the manufacturing stag

Hard to tell without specifics But here is my suggestion: Check that your HDMI wire is properly plugged in and or working properly or just get a new one as they tend to break internally. hope that helps -SAM

I use the Marshall V-LCD70XP-3GSDI monitor. It is very sharp, with focus assist and false color and peaking filter. I've used the iKan and Manhattan LCD and the Marshall is the best for the money. Flanders Scientific is my second recommendation.

I have seen some negative comments on the Ikan brand. I was looking at Manhattan too, but heard some negatives on a pro users board. http://www.manhattanlcd.com/ There will always be good and bad reviews. The JVC looks promising.
