Color doesn't work with either of those formats. It works with ProRes, DVCPRO HD and HDV. DV as well...and Uncompressed SD and HD.

One other thing i saw was that my timeline was set to DVCpro and that made a 4:3 export regardless of the dimensions of the timeline. When I made it prores it worked the way it was suppose too.

I understand what 32-bit was although I believe you made my worst fears a reality - quicktime (Prores, DVCPro HD, etc) codecs on the mac are all 32 bit - not 64?!?!?!?!?!?!! | | | | |

Ugh your right. I finally (after about 12 hours) isolated the problem as a balky firewire port and a slow drive. It really shouldn't have taken so long but I was so focused on thinking it was something I was doing wrong with the settings. | | | | |

Most of the time, dropped frames are being caused by drive problems... what are you using as a scratch disk, and have you tested it's write speed?
