Might want to give this a go http://www.digital-heaven.co.uk/dh_counter I think it can go past 60 mins - not free but pretty cheap and you can try before you buy. Hopefully it will work for you.

Sounds like a silly question but have you checked on the Digital Heaven site and looked for an upgrade of the plug-in ? Current version is 2.2 - whats yours ? They are pretty good at keeping things up to date so that would be my first port of call.
