Try to separate color channels and then do a custom combination.
COlor channels are very useful when they are separated.
U can also try some plugins from Digital film tools than can simulate this look.

Digital film tools has a tool that can do the opposite - adding a fill light to a poorly lit part of the video - so maybe you can reverse the effect for your needs:

Depends on how critical you want to be. The current Color Corrector inside FCP is very powerful in itself. It can be tricky to manipulate.
It will be interesting to see what Apple does with Final Touch. I am looking forward to NAB this year.
