I'd convert all AVI stuff to ProRes, and work in a 2K timeline in Resolve. Doesn't matter what frame size the original footage is in. I always make the timeline resolution the same as the final output. And I'd do all motion in Resolve if possible.

Stig, Extracting the DPX-files with RedLogFilm / REDGamma3 (or 2 if you don't have 3) is fine. It is pretty common practice for feature film and commercial work. Make sure you use "use meta from each shot / metadata as shot" to retain metadata use

i don't think the issue is the Log interpretation : scratch read is a log because it read (or bad interpret a flag inside the DPX metadata ) , as soon a s you manually force it to Lin all should be Ok , to me your issue sounds like wrong video

I'd output your XYZ straight from Resolve as 16-bit TIFF images (full range) and ENSURE the lab to bypass any color processing (it's very easy to forget in EasyDCP). You can't go wrong that way.
