im assuming you already have a caption file created? Maybe look into movie captioner. It will load quite a few different caption file types, and allow you to embed them into quicktime movies. Within quicktime the client can turn them on or off.

It's either user-error or you failing to look at the variables accurately. Your best bet is to review the tutorials and hopefully you'll sort things out. Another option is to download a Camtasia to record what you're doing starting from importing

Are you re-encoding from the timeline or are you just running it through Media Encoder? I've had things (crazy screen captures/camtasia) work one way and not the other. Try it both ways.

You have to sync by in or out point instead of timecode. That means you have to have a visual or audio reference in all the clips to sync up. Not familiar with Camtasia...can you feed it external audio as it records your screen?
