I used the Panasonic AVCHD Transcoder to transcode AVCHD to P2 (DVC Pro HD).
So I was able to edit the DVC Pro HD directly in AVID express Pro HD. No I'll try to export a QT Ref. file. This QT Ref. doesn't look like my Video at all! Black is grey | | | | |

Have you set up you deck in deck configuration?
Make sure your deck is on
Go to setting>deck configuration
select 'OHCI compliant' (I think - I'm not in front of an Avid...)
'Add new deck'
Find your deck in the two drop down menus

In the pull down menu (clip) Digital Cut is not an option. It is not bolded.

I've solved it thanks - for info, the answer is to install an earlier version of quicktime and make sure that the Avid DV Codec box is not checked on the export window.

I sometimes get that error message, try changing the options on export so they aren't same as source, set them manually to what you think might work. It's often trial and error (for me anyway) with QT export! | | | | |

That's great, it worked.
However!
When I try and export a Quicktime Movie from a timeline using Same as Source settings I get a pop up window saying "Unable to Export Bin" I know it's nothing to do with bins but it still won't export.

I don't think the fact that they used a Mac is a factor, but more likely that Avid just won't import .MOD file types. Can you convert the .mod file to QuickTime? (or worst case, have the client do that?)Kenton VanNatten
