I found a work-a-round to make things work in iDVD. Export all codec types out of Avid as QT reference clips. If your source was recorded at DV25, make sure your Display Aspect Ratio is "Native Dimensions" and do NOT use the Avid DV Codec on expo

Not in front of a system now, but there should be a check box in the export dialog about whether to use the Avid DV codec or not. If you deselect, it will use the standard size QT Codec built into Quicktime, which will iDVD will probably like better

Let me just say that if you are planning on purchasing AVID software at a around $2995, I think you'd be better off just purchasing a new $500 system for it, rather than try to put it on that old PC which doesn't come close to the minimum requirement

You should consider copying the entire folder structure to a suitable external media drive. Then you could delete from C Drive and try to relink to new media drive. There is no MC lite, only Avid DV, Xpress Pro, and MC (and briefly FreeDV).

Hi Sam, If the files are mxf then you could give this plugin for FCP a try. Just downloaded it but have not used yet. It allows .mxf import into FCP 6.0 and above. Its designed for p2 mxf but maybe it will save you the time of recapturing. Good L

Hi Sam, When you capture to Apple Dv or Avid DV, you are just writing in your HD the information already stored as DV in tape. The only difference is that the Avid codec use some Chroma Filtering when playing. This make the picture looks better when
