I can use H.264 without any hiccups. The only thing I would transcode would be AVCHD files because that codec is impossible to work with.

To what codec are you transcoding when you log & transfer? Native AVCHD gives FCP a lot of trouble and shouldn't be used for editing. Stick with good ol' ProRes 422.

I think the issue is that the reason I am having issue with AVCIntra 100 is because I am putting it on a AVCHD timeline. 90% of my project is AVCHD and I have interviews that were shot greenscreen in AVCIntra so it is giving slow playback on the AVC
