Hello.
I am trying to import ProRes 444 media from an Arri Alexa.
A) I notice that I can turn off the "Create Multi-Channel Clip" for 444 media, but this brings in en empty alpha channel clip. Two questions about that:

Trying to import XML (Red Epic 5K) Oh so nearly there and then Resolve crashes.
Never had this problem before From XDcamHD, Red1 to Arri. Is it purely the data size
that's making it crash?

Did you attempt an edl conform? I've conformed with edls showing source clips using file 32 setting. Also had success with aaf's. There was a checkbox in resolve I had to check but after that it reconformed a 90 minute feature to the frame.

Okay I did some more testing, looks like basic playback and export (for any of my test file formats (R3D, Arri RAW, Arri ProRes, F65 RAW) is dependent on the CPU and disk speed. Having multiple GPU's isn't going to help here.

I'm doing some performance testing in Resolve with various footage using up to 2 GTX580 cards and I'm finding that I don't see any difference in fps (at least in playback) whether I'm using 1 or 2 GTX580 cards for GPU processing.

The NVS2500 doesn't support UDF formatted cards.
NVS2525A UDF Special is the only current model supports UDF formatted cards, i.e. Sony PMW-500 or Arri Alexa.

I would personally recommend shooting ProRes4444 for this situation. While you probably don't need ArriRaw, the Alexa can go to 4444 on board so why shoot less quality? The space requirement isn't that great and it will playback realtime off any driv | | | | |

I have an overclocked Zotac 580 AMP2 3GB,
The Fans are realy quiet and I have no stability issues...
I´m running it since september 2011 doing 30-120min ARRI-ALEXA-dailies every workday with 25-28fps...
One of the best if not THE BEST 580...
