Looks like a memory leak.
I have the same issue with MainConcept MP4 encoder on Vegas Pro 9
Here is how to recreate the bug;
Render any video as MP4 using MainConcept AVC/AAC encoder.
Choose Apple IPod 320x240 template and open Custom panel.

The small file size was a result of using the MainConcept Apple iPod 320x240 preset.
That resulted in a 60 MB. file.
The Internet 4:3 preset gave me a 406 MB. file.
