Hey just wanted to chime in here (not sure if the original poster is even following this anymore!)
So if you are still thinking of doing a film out from 5d footage, I've done a 2 min test run and here's what I found:
Transcode with the FCP 5d pluggin to prores 444, edit in FCP using pluraleyes to sync sound. Grade in Color (or resolve) and render out to a 2k DPX. Use a Cinevator for the 35mm print. The Cinevator will apply a inverse LUT based on the film stock so there's no need for that in Color.
There is enough out there already on shooting with flat profiles and moire-filters and whether you still get to wear the DP hat if you shoot with a twink camera like the 5d.
Our footage was close enough to film that if you hadn't been told you wouldn't have known.
