Okay, I'm going to get the HPX-170, pay the silly cost, and will use my t2i as the backup camera.

You must be bored of me already, but as you all know what kind of scenes I'll be shooting (streets, markets, plazas) I thought I'd ask this question here: please help me work out which lenses to buy for the t2i. I started here, have been roaming around the net for the last four hours...here's the current top pics.

So, this 50mm lens to start.

Now I'm looking for a fast or cheap zoom and an ultra wide angle one.

This wide?

This zoom, or this one? Or this one?

I haven't yet got into 3rd party lenses. So, anyone have experience with a fast(ish) zoom lens for $1000 or less?

Mac OSx 10.5.8, FCP 6.
