Okay. I think the EX1 is out of my budget. Holy crap! But better in high and low light. The price difference does come down when you take into account the memory cards when compared to...

The HPX170 looks like a great camera. 720p 24pn, it's cheaper, and records in DVCPRO HD...great for fcp (so I'm told). Still, memory might be an issue. Anyone know how long you get on a 16GB card @ 720p 24pn? Not very possible, but MIGHT be able to afford two of these.

HDR-FX7 looks really capable, great in low light, and is cheaper than both the above. I could definitely afford two of these, I think. Can't seem to find out whether MPEG 2 compression will be an ass to work with. Assuming I've got to transcode.

GY-HD100U looks breakable. And HDV again. And not that inexpensive.

I've got a Canon t2i, which isn't giving me a great footage. Still, wondering whether it could be a viable 2nd camera if I get a good first one. HPX 170 seems like it could rock my world - and perhaps could afford a 7D with it. Depends on the funding we get.

Sorry for the continual questions. I'd just like to say that I'm really appreciating all the help!

Mac OSx 10.5.8, FCP 6.
