Any of the cameras you're describing will do a decent job, it's what you do with them.

This is another useful title:

Again, it's about making movies, as an entire art form - on the cheap.

I have had the good fortune to know Stu for a long time, and he's amazingly talented and a very good explainer of the whole process. His blog:

And note that despite the title of his book, much of it applies not only to actioners, low-budget or otherwise, but also narrative cinema in general.
