Shooting Ratios

Hi All,
I had a question for anyone who has shot documentaries or reality programs. What were your shooting ratios? I ask because of a couple of reasons, I've been working on a doc and have shot about 300 hours for what will be a 90 minute film. I am still not feeling comfortable with what I have, most everything was shot with 2 cameras. Several friends of mine (filmmakers) I have talked with are all about 100 hours and up. I've stumbled across a few things lately that indicate some people shoot at ratios as little as 20 -30 to one. I find this astounding, I was just curious what bench marks were for others. What do you think are typical ratios for commercial reality shows and documentaries?
I realize the numbers would vary widely by genre, but if you had to guess what the industry averages were, what would you guess?
Thanks!
Brian
