Hi everyone,

I'm going to be filming some musicians and dancers in a studio soon as part of a student documentary. The rest of the documentary will be quite straight forward (talking heads etc) but i'm hoping for the studio footage to look slick and professional.

I have been advised to shoot on SD on the basis that it is less of headache than HD and the difference in quality is not enough to warrant the change. But i'm concerned that the studio footage is going to look far inferior in SD?

I have the option of shooting in SD (Sony PD170) or HD (Sony HVR Z1 or a Canon which i can't recall).

I'd be grateful for any advice.

Cheers.

RS
