My First Documentary...Would like some adivse
by Jupjit Grewall on Nov 4, 2008 at 5:30:46 pm

Hello all, thanks for reading my post

I am currently directing and producing a documentary (HD) examining the mentality of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters, and the psychology of self-mutilatory behavior.

This is my first documentary film and I have zero experience. I am, however, a multimedia producer specializing in video editing and motion graphics. I also know virtually all fighters in the MMA world. Having both assets has helped alleviate the need for anyone else to help me. I will be doing all the traveling and conducting all the interviews. And I will be editing it all with the help of a friend.

So, I'm looking for some advise on how to do this. What obstacles should I expect? How long should it be? How should I get it in the faces of the public? How can I publicize it and sell it? What do I do when I'm done with it? What will a documentary film do for me and my career?

If anyone has any advise or resources for a new guy, please share.

I thank you all in advance...
