Thanks, I'm not sure I understand your statement. I'm not an editor myself but trying to find a solution for our telecine transfers. We are a lab.

If I already have the TC on a DAT, how would I match it to the video in FCP which is not the same as the DAT recorded in the field?

If I have the slate pop visual from the FCP timeline, could I not control the TC DAT machine to go to that point on the DAT and digitize in at that point, putting it in sync? Wouldn't FCP see the DAT like a video tape via RS422 only take in audio?

That is a separate issue of course from the TC embedded in an audio file being maintained as it comes into the timeline.
