Do you by any chance have an extra internal hard drive in your machine? If so, you could install Leopard and all the current drivers, software etc.. that you have on that particular drive. Fire up the system in Leopard and see if it works.
If it doesn't simply revert back to your original internal drive and go back to TIger.
It very well could be one of those things that you really do just have to jump in and see what happens, but don't do it at the expense of destroying your Tiger setup.
